Academic Infrastructure

A Multipurpose Hall with multimedia capabilities along with well furnished and spacious classrooms form the basic infrastructure of the college. Apart from this the college also has an up to date, well maintained Work Experience, Science, Educational Technology, Psychology and Computer laboratories. These laboratories are open to the students to experiment with novel ideas and themes which could enhance their capabilities to disseminate knowledge.

The students are required to participate in various sports like badminton, volley ball, basket ball, table tennis, chess and carom. These facilities are provided to the students within the campus itself.

All Round Personality Development

Cultural Activities : AIE, Delhi Cantt accords great importance to overall development of personality of students through participation in co-curricular activities. These include events like seminar, workshops, symposia, quiz programmes, study circle, music, dance and drama etc.

Study Tour : The teacher-trainees are taken on study tour, once during the session, so that they can interact and understand the ethos, methods of teaching, curriculum etc of other teacher training colleges of the capital. Expenditure towards this study tour will be born by students.

Library and Lab Facilities at AIE

Library : The college has well equipped library with more than 8000 books and periodicals. The library also has many encyclopedias in the form of CDs which the students can use to enhance their understanding of concepts or utilize during their school experience. The Library is open from 0900 hrs to 2000hrs everyday, for students to be able to make use of its rich knowledge base.

Computer and Educational Technology Lab: The institution has a well furnished and fully functional Computer and Educational Technology Lab. The college has 31 computers of which 20 are in the computer lab and the rest 11 are spread across in the campus like in the educational technology lab, psychology lab, library and the various offices. These computers are Dell Inspirion i3Processors with 3GB RAM and 320 GB HDD all computers are Multimedia enabled. All the computers are connected over LAN and the internet facility is thus provided. Apart from this the lab has two LCD projectors that are used in the teaching learning process as students are encouraged to learn how to make and teach using presentations. The Educational Technology lab has two televisions, one music system, an audio mixer and over fifty educational CDs that the students can make use of.

Science Lab: AIE's Science lab is well equipped with chemicals, reagents, apparatuses and equipment meant for conducting Physics, Chemistry and Biology activities and experiments for classes VI to X. Some of the experiments that the student teachers can perform in the Science lab includes those dealing with the concept of electricity, optics in Physics, chemical analysis of salts and titration in Chemistry, making temporary and permanent slides, studying adaptation patterns in Biology

Psychology Lab: More than 100 test and tools are available to measure/ evaluate/ assess the mental functioning of the subjects in various domains viz. Intelligence, Aptitude, Interests, Attitudes, Personality, Psycho-diagnostics, Memory Tests etc. Psychotherapy and Counseling ( educational, vocational and personal) facilities are also available.

Work Experience Lab: A well furnished work experience lab exists in the campus. This lab provides opportunities for students to gain hands on experiences in areas like art and craft, gardening and designing and printing. The institute is also in the process of adding facilities for wood work, electrical gadgets and clay modelling.

Shopping Complex :

Gopi Nath Bazaar and Sadar Bazaar are the shopping outlets in the close vicinity of AIE with facilities like banks and STD booths etc. that can be availed by the students. A shopping cum CSD also exists in the cantonment area where entitled students can shop their routine requirements.

Medical :

AIE has an adequate provision for the first-aid facilities. The Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, located at a distance of one Km from the Institute can be approached for medical support for the entitled students in the event of emergency.

Hostel

AIE has a limited hostel facility for female students in the Girls Hostel located in the AIE Campus. It does not have hostel facility for boys but they can procure the same in the Delhi Area Boys Hostel located in Delhi Cantt. subject to its availability. The application for a seat in the AIE Girls Hostel should be submitted to the Hostel Warden on the prescribed form available in the AIE office between 11 July 2012 and 30 July 2012 .Outstation candidates will be given preference in the allotment of hostel accommodation. However, the outstation candidates desirous of residing under their own arrangements can do so with the permission of the Principal.

The application for accommodation in the Delhi Area Boys Hostel located in Delhi Cantt should be procured from and submitted to the Delhi Area Boys Hostel only as per their procedure in this respect.
